VAK Learning styles.

From the time of birth to death in a simple manner or in a advance way first as children then as adults people used to learn things. learning cannot be recognize as a practice related only for the human but it is applicable for the animal world as well.

VAK learning styles basically discussed on the preference of learning way of a individual which can be describe as Visual,Auditorial and Kinesthetic learning. In a school,college or university it is very important for a teacher to identify the way of learning of their students in respect of easy teaching practices which could be implemented over identified different preferences of the students. 

"Because its simplicity, the VAK learning style inventory is widely recognized in education" (Deshmukth et al., 2014).  

Original concept of VAK developed by psychologists and child teaching specialists and now it has reached every corner of the world because of the identified benefits.

"VAK theory is now a favorite of the accelerated learning community because its principles and benefits extend to all type of learning and development,far beyond its early applications" (Gholami and Bagberi, 2013).

The letters of VAK stands for the words of visual,auditorial and kinesthetic respectively which can be described as below.

Visual learners are the people who see the things and learn. it can be by a reading a book or observing a chart or a table. these people tend to be more neat than others and it is very effective way of learning because of less power need and the attractiveness in matter of visual learning. about 65% from the population identified as visual learners whom tend to be the fastest talkers.

Auditorial learners are learning through listening by presentations,audio programs etc. and the people who likes to sit in a class room and learn from a teacher. around 30% from the population comes under this style of learning habits and tend to be fluent in foreign languages.

Kinesthetic learners are the ones who prefer to learn things by touching or moving and these people more tend to be thinkers while doing something. Athletes or sports people, people who does constructional things are ones coming under this section of learning habits.





Globally recognized theory of VAK learning styles practicing and benefited by most of the places around the world and in local context also we can experience the places or educational agencies,government schools and universities practicing the notion of VAK.

As per Rahman et al.(2019), it is identified and recommended to have a system to differentiate teaching patterns by mixing visual,auditorial and kinesthetic styles which can potentially impact on student response.

Some experiments have taken place to check how the concept works on Male and Female differently and it has observed that male tend to be more Kinesthetic than female by searching for more informal environment.

"there is a significant difference between male and female regarding VAK learning style,male students preferred learning style is visual kinesthetic and auditorial while female students preferred learning style is visual auditorial and kinesthetic learning styles" (Ibrahim and Hussein, 2016)

According to Hardiana and Suyata (2018), VAK styles differ under three stages in terms of identifying or understanding of students categories as follow.

Preparation stage, where learners give positive image to students to get ready.

Stage of delivering and training, where the students have given tools of all VAK styles and trying to recognize them as what is the way they should be learned.

Phase performance of results, while students present the results of learning other students and learners give their feedback. 

The above study has done to emphasis the importance of the VAK and in respect of identification of students learning type.


Conclusion.

According to the discussion we have done on VAK learning method it is recognized that the importance of it and why and what are the benefits local and international educational departments gathered by practicing of the VAK learning styles. it is always recommended and emphasized to have a mix or combination of all three aspects of the VAK styles to have a good, learnable, educational environment.

  1. The result study show that there is a positive relationship between VAK learning styles and problem solving. No satistically significant gender difference in VAK learning style catogary was found between females and males.( Gholmi & Bagheri, 2013)

  2. The main advantage of applying the VAK learning style model is that both students and teachers can adjust their behaviors according to their preferences and make their learning and teaching more effective. Will paying attention to learning styles solve all classroom problems.
    There are several advantages of this learning method.
    01. Caters to every learner in a one way or the other.
    02. Encourages active participation among learners
    03. Makes lesson interesting (Ex: when students watch video clips , then go for group discussion or practical activity)
    04. Success in learning for the individual
    05. Helps in differentiation in classroom
    06. helps in supporting Learning Disability Students.

  4. Educators/trainers need to identify the type of learner before commencing or during the first few moments of the session. Words should be used according to the type of learning. i.e. a kinesthtic learner will like words "I feel".

  5. It is better to have a combination of all factors in designing training programs since we cannot predict and limit the learning style of a crowd into one factor. But before that, the trainer needs to get an understanding about the crowd and prepare himself to conduct in dynamic methods to attract the crowd towards him.
